Planning Crunch Time!

Since I will have no time for planning a wedding AT ALL when my internship starts, it is time to get that ball rolling!  Justin and I are heading to Memphis this weekend to meet with the wedding planner to talk about what we want and how to get it. (So update of that meeting will come soon!)  Date is set, colors are set, location is set, and more importantly.... HONEY MOON RESERVATIONS ARE MADE AND THE DEPOSIT HAS BEEN MADE!!!! We're going to Couples Resort Swept Away in Jamaica... mon... hee hee.  We are so excited! This month has been a gift from God.  No school, lots of working, and lots of planning for our future as we are house hunting also.  Busy, but busy doing things that I love.  Going to register soon too.  I know it's crazy early, but I have to get everything done as soon as possible so I'm not overloaded during my internship.

iMovie

Well, almost no wedding planning has happened because I have been incredibly busy with school, but I did complete this movie as part of a "Technology for Teachers" class.  I loved it and thought I'd share it!

An Engagement Photographer!

So Justin and I just met with our engagement photographer for the first time!  She’s a friend of mine from a while ago and I think she’s going to be perfect! We want really laid back and casual pictures and she seems to have some great ideas and is really willing to work with us to give us whatever we need! YAY! We have planned on Cade’s Cove over spring break.  Hopefully some flowers have started to bloom!  Plus next weekend we are going to Memphis to look at venues and that puts us one step closer to setting a date!!!  Things are going along just as swimmingly as possible and I’ve started building my wedding binder of ideas and motivation!  Here’s a world that I learned how to make in my Technology for teachers class!  It’s the words from 1 Corinthians 13:4. ENJOY!

A Wish List

It’s Friday night and I can tell Justin and I’s lives have evolved since the engagement.  All our friends are out partying and we chose to stay in to look at wedding magazines and fantasize about our dream wedding!  I love this time together!  I’ve decided a couple of things for sure and that is the following:

Things we are willing to cut budget on because we don’t think are extremely important
The Dress
The Flowers
The Invitations

Things we will spare no expense on
The Cake
The Photographer
Having an Open Bar

Also Our Dream Wish List
A Wedding Photo Booth (they rent them in some areas but I don’t know about Memphis)
A Cigar Bar (extremely unlikely but Justin would like it)
A Bucket of Flip Flops in My Color for Guests to Change Into

But most of all…

I want something of my mothers to wear on the day.  She didn’t wear a wedding dress so I don’t have that, but I have some of her jewelry.  I’m calling on my family members to tell me if they can remember anything about the wedding or how she wanted it.  Please let me know.

Oh My Goodness! We're Engaged!

This blog will be sort of an online version of our thought process in planning our wedding.  It is a year and a half to two years away, but we hope this will provide a unique opportunity to share these processes with our loved ones who are (some) a thousand miles away.  Through this blog, we hope to keep our distant relatives as much a part of the planning as those that live next door.  Please feel free to add comments or email us your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas because we hope family can be the biggest part of this celebration of love.  That being said… I cannot promise that all suggestions and ideas will be used because, over all, we want this day to be a reflection of our personalities.  Thus, please do not be offended if all ideas are not used be it financial or personal restrictions.  So! Check back often, and stay in contact through this very exciting time in Justin and I’s lives!
